Restigouche
is the most northern of New Brunswick's counties and also
one of the most picturesque in eastern Canada. Stretching
over an area of 8 577 square km, Restigouche offers an
undulating landscape as well as numerous lakes, rivers
and streams to outdoor enthusiasts.
Spanning
over 150 km from Belledune to Saint-Quentin, Restigouche
is bordered by the Bay of Chaleur, the Restigouche River
and the province of Quebec to the North, Madawaska and
Victoria counties to the Southwest, Northumberland county
to the South East with Gloucester county on its eastern
boundary.
The
primary municipalities are Campbellton, 7 798 residents
and Dalhousie, 3 975 residents. Other incorporated municipalities
include Atholville, Balmoral, Belledune, Charlo, Eel River
Crossing, Kedgwick, Saint-Quentin and Tide Head. The remainder
of the county is divided into 21 Local Service Districts
(LSD).
