The Restigouche Regional Service Commission is located in northern New Brunswick and serves the municipalities of Bois-Joli, Campbellton, Heron-Bay and Kedgwick, and the Restigouche Regional Rural District.

Under the supervision of the Director of Planning Services, the planner is responsible for managing and leading the review of development projects on the territory. The individual will be responsible for the creation and upkeep/review of planning tools including municipal plans, rural plans, zoning by-laws and other by-laws as supported by the Community Planning Act. The individual will provide support and guidance to the division staff.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of urban and rural planning principles and of the development approval process.
- Ability to maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders including the general public, the development community, municipal councils and government departments
- Leadership, demonstrates a sense of responsibility and initiative.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively in both English and French.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, independently and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Qualifications
- Degree from a university planning program – recognized by the Canadian Institute of Planners.
- A minimum of five (5) years of work experience in land use planning
Salary – We offer a competitive salary based on qualifications and experience. We also offer a benefit package including medical and dental insurance covered in full, life insurance, RRSP contribution and other.
Work Schedule – Thirty five (35) hour work week over five days. The position will involve working outside regular office hours. Possibility of remote work.
