The Restigouche Regional Tourism Division is a collaborative service within the Restigouche Regional Service Commission (RSC) dedicated to the promotion of tourism attractions of the Restigouche Region targeted to potential tourism markets mainly through communication and promotion initiatives, tourism operator training, collaborative initiatives with its operators, communities and representation to various stakeholders. (Restigouche Region refers to the territory covered by the Restigouche RSC).
The RSC is seeking a dynamic and action-oriented individual to coordinate the promotion efforts and support tourism operators.
Overview:
Under the direction of the CEO and with guidance from the Tourism Advisory Committee, the Tourism Coordinator will coordinate the activities of the Division’s day-to-day operations and implement its development and marketing strategies.
Main Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the activities of the Restigouche Tourism Division in collaboration with the Tourism Advisory Committee under the mandate issued by the Restigouche RSC;
- Coordinate various media and advertising initiatives, communications, public relations and marketing activities across a variety of platforms;
- Develop strategic partnerships with businesses, community groups and associations for the promotion and development of tourism in the Restigouche Region;
- Provide input on strategic goals by gathering pertinent business, service and operational information; identifying and evaluating trends and options; proposes a course of action with objectives;
- Implement the actions of the Tourism Development plan;
General Requirements:
- Degree in Business Administration/Marketing, Communication or Tourism
- Three years of experience project management
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Superior abilities in communications & promotion and a strong technical knowledge of social media networks
- Ability to develop harmonious interpersonal relations
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
- Fluent in both official languages in New Brunswick, written and spoken
The regular work week is thirty-five (35) hours. The successful candidate must be available to occasionally work evenings and weekends, have a valid driver’s license and be available to travel outside the Restigouche Region from time to time. The salary scale will be $55,000-$65,000 annually with benefits based on education and/or experience and knowledge.
The office of the Tourism Coordinator will be located at 68A Water Street, Campbellton, New Brunswick.
