The Restigouche Regional Service Commission is seeking to hire a full-time Economic Development Coordinator to work under the supervision of the RSC’s Director of Economic Development.  The EDC will coordinate the region’s economic strategies & activities related to the welcoming and retention of newcomers to the region.

As the Economic Development Coordinator (welcoming & retention), you will support the Director of Economic Development and will perform a variety of duties, including:

  • Participate to meetings of various committees
  • Participate to the implementation of the attraction & retention of human resources for the region
  • Support the Director of Economic Development and collaborate with RSC co-workers that could be involved in the welcoming and community integration of newcomers.
    • Liaise with various stakeholders, including the Restigouche Multicultural Association, organizations and departments involved with the integration of newcomers, as well as municipal administrators, municipal councils, rural district, provincial government departments, service delivery agencies, etc.
  • Coordinate the activities of the welcoming and community integration committee.
  • Other tasks and actions that could be identified to achieve the objectives for the optimal economic development of the region.


The ideal candidate for this position will have a postsecondary education in business administration, public administration, or a related discipline. This person will have relevant knowledge and experience in organizational administration. The person will have acquired experience in project management and development. An equivalent combination of Education/Experience may be considered. A very good knowledge of French and English, both verbal and written will be required.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Exceptional communication skills, verbal and in writing, ability to be tactful and diplomatic. Comfortable communicating via social media/networks
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task as deadlines and priorities change.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office suite software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), as well as developing presentations and communication material.
  • Ability to work flexible and non-flexible hours.
  • Have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license.

Total compensation for this position will be competitive and commensurate with the qualities and experience of the successful candidate and includes health benefits. The salary range is $48,000 to $57,000. The usual work week is 35 hours Monday to Friday, however, meetings and events may take place outside of regular office hours from time to time.
